Only the BRAVE respond

June 11, 2026

When the need is clearly there and obvious, only people who are empowered with integrity, strength and faith will be resilient enough to see advancement of their goals. BRAVE staff saw the need and came up with programs to work towards solving those needs. Jamie, staff, management and board of directors most of whom are young people, some born and raised in Petersburg, answered that call. I am a sponsor and I will continue to donate to the BRAVE project because I know some of the leadership and I see the fruits of their labor.

Building Pathways to Equity and Opportunity

June 10, 2026

I am incredibly grateful for the impact this organization has had on the lives of young people in the community. Their commitment to eliminating systemic barriers has created opportunities for youth who may otherwise have been overlooked or underserved.

Through mentorship, education, advocacy, and access to critical resources, they empower young people to recognize their potential and pursue their goals with confidence. Their work goes beyond addressing immediate needs—they help build pathways to long-term success by fostering equity, inclusion, and opportunity.

An organization that is truly CONSEQUENTIAL

June 10, 2026

In our search for an organization to support, we evaluated numerous foundations and found that the B.R.A.V.E. Project stood out for its compelling purpose, clear mission, and proven track record of impactful initiatives in literacy, empowerment, and youth development. The B.R.A.V.E. Project’s literacy programs go beyond foundational learning, equipping young people with essential skills for the future through financial education, health awareness, and personal development opportunities. What truly distinguishes the B.R.A.V.E. Project is its strong presence and meaningful contributions to local schools, particularly through its STEM book initiatives. As promoting literacy remains our primary objective, we are honored to support such an impactful and dedicated organization.

Internship(s)

February 5, 2026

Jamie is investing in my undergrads at Virginia State University affording them internships. It should be noted that Jamie visits with us in the classroom to guest teach and identifies terrific candidates to support her mission. This is the right way to do it!

A Heartfelt Thank You

February 4, 2026

The Brave Project is an exceptional community partner to Communities In Schools of the Tri-Cities, and we are deeply grateful for their unwavering commitment to our students, families, and broader community. Their immense care and compassion are evident in everything they do.

Through Christmas assistance, financial literacy support, and countless other acts of service, The Brave Projects consistently shows up to meet real needs—serving not just the student, but the whole child and the family surrounding them. Their willingness to step in wherever help is needed has made a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.

The Brave Projects embodies what it means to be a true community partner: responsive, generous, and deeply invested in the well-being and success of our students and families. We are honored to work alongside an organization that leads with heart and purpose, and we are better because of their partnership.
